One-Drum Foundation Projects
One-Drum Foundation is currently working on its flagship project;
"Drumming Against Knives" aimed at vulnerable young people and adults at risk. Our project objective is to provide free workshops during term time and school holidays for the local communities to learn ancient African drumming rhythms, the legacy, the history, the origins and the influence on popular music of today.
Our aim is provide African drums for every participant, for our workshops and perfromance to be free of charge and to remain all inclusive, open to all ages and all abilities.
Traditionally African drumming is a community activity where parents, carers, grandparents and friends join in peace and harmony using ancient African drumming rhythms to tell their own stories, to pass the stories down to the next generation, who add their own experiences and continue the tradition. African drumming circles unite and heal broken communities.
